I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: TeamBarkulis

Below is the stock message given to us "Shavees" when we sign up for St. Baldrick's. I agree with all of it, and feel it is worth reading, but I also wanted to add a little bit more. I have volunteered to raise money and shave my head three times over the past 4-5 years. I've been lucky enough to host an event last year at Vintage 338 and am excited to do it again this year. Anyone that knows me will know that I am not one to walk, let alone run, some random "K" event to help with cancer research, prevention and treatment. That is why St. Baldrick's is a natural fit for me. Helping these children and this noble organization out by raising money to shave my head may not have a personal physical health benefit, but it does benefit the health of so many others. Plus, to me, the bald head message helps to show these kids this is something they do not have to fight alone. It's a way to give strength through solidarity. That is why I humbly ask for your support and donation of any amount. Whether you can donate or not I hope to see you at the actual event. Thank you.

I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
