Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
I have been involved with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in one form or another for several years. I’ve even hosted a few events of my own. This time I am coming out to support my sister-in-law Jamie Healey. She is a strong and loving woman who is kicking cancer’s butt!
I have set a lofty goal of $5k for myself. If you know me, you know I generally keep my hair on the high and tight side and probably also know I have a pretty solid mustache. Obviously I’m going to let my hair grow out between now and then, but I’m also going to keep the mustache trimming to a bare minimum. I’d love to say that I won’t shave off the stache unless I hit the $5k mark, but who knows?!
Let’s all rally behind such a good cause with such a great lady! Please consider tossing a couple bucks my way either via the online donation form or by showing up on March 5 to help support the event.
And now a little of the provided copy to let you know a little more about the St. Baldrick’s Foundation…..
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
