Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
There are many people throughout my family that have gone through the struggles of cancer, including my Mommom, Poppop, Nana, my Aunt Marion, my dad’s mom Marion, my Grammy, my dad’s birthmom’s mom, Grandma Eva, and my aunt Christy, and I wanted to be able to support each of them and anyone else who has been unlucky enough to have cancer change their lives.
Recently Claire, my Grammy and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met has been diagnosed with brain cancer, and it’s just been awful. We hope that she doesn’t get any calls from the doctor because the calls always bring more bad news. Our hearts are always with her as our family goes through this time, and I hope that by participating in St. Baldrick’s I can support her, my other family members, and all the other families going through things like this in a truly impactful way.
Any contributions made towards St. Baldrick’s will help us to support research to find cures for childhood cancer and give survivors long and healthy lives. Even just one dollar can help make a difference, and every person that hears about St. Baldrick’s is another potential donation, so I ask you all to please give whatever you can and spread the word, so that one day we will make sure that all of our children and all of the world is cancer-free.
