She really is an amazing little person. It's amazing how much they can grow in 365 days. She walks upright (sometimes better than her parents do). She pets and hugs our dog. She's trying so hard to say words (the inflection at different parts of the sentence is there, she just needs to figure out the proper sounds)!

She turned one year old last year.  Finally, we can stop measuring her age in months! She rubbed a cake in her face that her Aunt Katie and Uncle Jay bought for her. She opened her presents from her grandparents, and, surprise!  Only half of them randomly make loud noises! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

That story I just told differs between parents.  At times, it's a much sadder story. It should never that sad. I can't begin to imagine how one survives the first birthday without their kid.

Let's do what we can to make sure we never have to tell that story again.
