All I'm asking for is a dollar...
Although my immediate family hasn't been directly impacted by childhood cancer, like many of you I find that it hits closer to home all the time. We have some good friends at church who were affected, and fortunately their son's story has had a happy ending. And recently I watched as our kids' band director choked up sharing the story of a little girl in our school district who is fighting her own battle right now. So, I don't need a "big" reason to support such a good cause. I just want to do my small part. If everyone I knew here would donate $1, we could make a significant contribution. Will you pitch in with me?
(now here's the standard language -- which does have some useful information):
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
