Why would I do this you ask?? I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Most of you know I'm a pediatric oncology/bone marrow transplant nurse. I'd love it if some day I was unemployed because these kids didn't have to endure the arduous treatment regimens for their cancer diagnoses. My heart breaks a little more with each new diagnosis that arrives to our unit in the middle of the night, as bleary-eyed parents realize their worst nightmare. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. In the 12 years I have been working in this field of nursing, I have seen improvements in pediatric cancer treatment that have made a real difference in survival rates, thanks to research funded by this organization. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
