I vividly remember the day I was diagnosed with stage 3B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was terrified and like every child I didn't understand how emotionally and physically draining this diagnosis would be on myself and my entire family. I went through Chemo-Therapy, radiation, and eventually a stem cell transplant after relapsing with stage 4B Hodgkin's Lymphoma that had metastasized to my lungs. I was a freshmen in high school when I relapsed, and for me it put a hard stop on all the goals I had as a young adult. Ten years later I've been blessed enough to become a pediatric emergency room registered nurse at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio helping children through the acute issues they present with, many times being pediatric cancer. A child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes and this is a diagnosis that effects their whole life and entire family.
