My name is Anderson, and I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to raise money to help kids with cancer. I wanted to raise $500 at first, because that was twice as much as I did for Jump Rope for Heart. When I did that in two days, I decided to go for more!
I have not had cancer, and none of my best friends my age have had cancer, but lots of grownups in my life have. I hate cancer! I thought I would have to be bald for 4 or 5 or days (my hair grows fast!), but my parents said several months. I still think that is way better than having cancer.
Also, my Mom says she has a friend with an 8-year old (just like me!) daughter with cancer. Ashley was diagnosed on Friday, August 27th with Metastatic (Stage 4) Neuroblastoma, so I am doing this for her too. She starts her stem cell transplant on Friday March 4th, so pray for her and her family.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
