I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Pi Kappa Alpha

Hello, With kindness and charity in your heart, you donated to my St. Baldrick's page in 2011. Together, two years ago, we raised nearly $2,500. Every cent of this amount raised ended up going to various scientific organizations through grants that helped them continue the research which will one day cure cancer. The hardest hit from this all-consuming illness are children, as pediatric oncology departments in America's hospitals fight some of the hardest battles in medicine today. Imagine, a 4-year old needing to face her own mortality before she has even attended her first day of school, had her first dance or felt the joy of something as simple as a 5th birthday. With your help, we can do our best to cure this disease. On Saturday, December 8th, I have once again pledged to shave my head in solidarity for the millions of kids every year who have no other choice but to bravely deal with the side effects of cancer therapy. Some of them are merely toddlers, too tired to learn to walk from the toll hours of chemotherapy takes on their bodies. Please, find the time and graciousness to help me, help yourselves and help these kids once more. Take some time to see and experience one of their stories. I know you will all do the right thing. www.stbaldricks.org/participants/abhatia2012 The deadline to donate is fast-approaching. Best, A. Bhatia
