** It's not too late to give! We are continuing towards reaching our goal as there is  still a large amount left to finish funding this important grant.**  THANK YOU!!

This is Xavier. If you support me, I’ll shave my head in solidarity with my awesome and adored cousin Olivia who has been fighting Osteosarcoma like a true battante (French for incredible girl fighter for my non-Brussels friends ;D.

My Uncle Michael and Aunt April, who I admire so much, have set an amazing example of starting the change you want to see. They joined forces with other parents in founding a new charity to raise $1.5 million for a really meaningful Osteosarcoma research grant. They found out that’s what it would take to have the best shot at helping kids like my cousin by improving the current treatment (which is almost 40 years old, ancient if you think about the advances of modern medicine) and offering something new to turn to in case of relapse (of which Olivia is still at risk).  The opportunity to apply learnings from this grant to other kids cancers is also super exciting.

I want to play a part in making change happen by both raising funds and raising awareness among kids and parents. You see, my strong cousin has always been super athletic and active- when she went to the doctor she just thought she had a sore knee. Cancer can affect anyone and early detection is critical; it’s important to listen to your body and get it seen fast if something seems off.

What now?  JOIN ME in being the change you want to see by giving to our team “From Brussels With Lots O Love” - just click the green DONATE right here on the page you're on now.  (You can also click here to learn more detail about the campaign & either hit 'back' to give on my page or click the donate button on that Brussels page; it all supports our team and kids cancer!!!).

* For those who have asked, bank transfers can be sent to my parents' account & we can easily transfer them to the grant; just please include in the Reference/note "X Donation 2018" & how you want your name to appear.  The bank account info is: Cristina & John Scott Cooke BE62 3631 5965 4461.  (Great if you can email a quick heads-up to alert us.)  THANKS!

I really appreciate your help.

Xavier.

PS- If you click the green button below the pic of me and Olivia at the top, you’ll see a funny-looking bald kid looking kind of glum despite the typical bliss of someone sporting mod sunglasses while riding a dino playground toy. That is me, age 2.5 during my own battle with cancer.  Yep.  So c’mon, help me help others get on the other side of cancer.  It can be done!

note: If it's easier than your giving online via credit card or PayPal, I can also collect cash (&/or bank transfers to my mom per above) and list your donations however you want to appear (by your name or by class section or team names- get your friends involved!!).   Just email me at Xaviercooke1212@gmail.com if any questions.  Thanks!
