It’s that time of year again—when I willingly let someone take clippers to my head for a great cause! On April 12th, I’ll be shaving my head at the Raleigh Hibernian St. Baldrick’s Event to raise money for childhood cancer research.
Some of you may remember my previous adventures in hair color—whether it was purple, electric blue, or Johnny Rotten green. Well, this year, William has spoken, and I must comply: if we raise over $500, I’ll be rocking PINK hair before the big shave!
I’d love your support in one (or all!) of these ways:
1 - Join me at Hibernian Pub on April 12th to witness the transformation live. Enjoy some food, drinks, and the collective horror of my barber as they realize what they’ve agreed to.
2 - Donate to my fundraising page to help support kids battling cancer. Your donation is tax-deductible and guaranteed to make you feel like a hero.
3 - Share my fundraising page with friends, family, or your most competitive coworker who loves a challenge.
As a bonus, I’ve successfully recruited my brother-in-law Stephen to join the cause. Now, I’m not saying this is a competition… but if I raise more than him, every donor will receive a personalized limerick about my sweet, sweet victory.
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and for making this tradition even more fun every year. Let’s make a difference—one bald head at a time!
Here is blurb from St Baldricks...
Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
