I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why I do this and why should you care…

Interestingly, Bill Clinton (not that one) a Navy PAO that I went to PAO school with, had been in Atlanta in 2002 and did St Baldrick’s. Now in NOLA, he wanted to have one here. So in 2003, Bill, Morgan Stewart and I planned the first NOLA event on the sidewalk outside Parasols with Jeff Carreras (now Tracey’s Irish Channel Bar). My kids were 3 and 5 and I felt like if I could do this I could maybe put some good juju out there for my kids and maybe help some others

I fell in love with the organization and the mission and have been doing it ever since. St Baldrick’s is now the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research and a force in advocacy for all cancer patients. Has shaving events take place all over the world which help fund the brightest, most promising research all over the world - including here in New Orleans.
