I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

About once a month a stranger tells me I have beautiful hair. As we grow up, I think we learn to reexamine beauty and to begin to consider what in life holds the greatest value. I've always appreciated the compliments but wondered about the value of beautiful hair. Is it really worth anything? In 2013, I saw the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. It was my friend Katie's hair--or lack of hair, rather. Katie raised money and "braved the shave" to support pediatric cancer research. What hair is more beautiful than hair that has been traded for opportunity and hope? So I am asking you today to make a donation "on my head" to fund pediatric cancer research. Please take a couple of minutes, maybe instead of scrolling Instagram or checking Facebook, to listen to the stories of a couple brave kids (out of far too many.) Support these kids and their families who wake up every morning and find strength and beauty.

These are kids who know that value lies in every moment. Value lies in seizing opportunities. You can help create these opportunities.
