I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team 25

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team 25

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Such a loaded question!! 25 years ago, my step-mother called me one day to ask what I was doing that Friday evening. She then told me that I was going to get my head shaved to help raise money for childhood cancer research. In light of the fact that her middle son, my brother Andy, was fighting the good fight at the time, I went without a second thought. That first year, I paid $20 to get a hair cut. Since then, I have met a ton of awesome people from all over this country, raised a crap-ton of money and done a LOT of good to help so that hopefully, some day, no family has to go through what mine has gone through not once but twice. My nephew was diagnosed shortly after graduating High School. He is now thriving, having passed his 5 year scans a few years back. Sadly, we lost my brother Andy, the Brave and Mighty, shortly after HIS 5 year scans. Before he passed, his parents brought him to the St. Baldrick's event to help with shaving my dome. That day I promised him that i would keep doing this either until they found the cure, or my hair stopped growing back in. Here we are, 2025 and I still have a full head of hair, albeit with more salt than pepper these days. So, I will once again be going under the clippers. Hoping to raise $2500 for my 25 years.
