So many people associate cancer with older people and never think about how their beautiful baby or child might have such an ugly disease that will show itself at any moment..
I'll never forget the day I found out that my best buddies son was diagnosed with brain cancer. Here in a few days we were both suppose to be heading to Florida to spend a week down there when we got the call that Ryan was diagnosed with Cancer and that not only will they not be able to come down, but he would be having surgery right away. We felt guilty for going and the whole time we were down there, we couldn't get the thoughts of Ryan (Todd, Mindy and Andrew) out of our heads thinking they should be down here with us having fun, not up north dealing with such a thing.
I have 2 kids of my own and Jen and I always think this could easily happen to our family or another close friends family and hope and pray someday there will finally be a cure to cancer.
When I was asked to shave my head for this fundraiser I'll admit I was scared since I'm starting to loose a little to much on top for my liking and was afraid it might not grow back. Then I asked myself.. what's more important? My hair or St. Baldricks Foundation finding a cure for Childhood Cancer. When I thought of it that way, I knew what the answer was.
So on June 4th I'll be joining quite a few other men, women and children trying to raise money for St. Baldricks! If you would like to see me bald and would like to donate (even a few dollars) please donate!
