I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello Friends and Family, I'm sure none of you have soon forgotten about a year ago when Brian and I shaved our heads. I am still in the LONG process of re-growing my 15 inches of hair, so I will not be shaving my head this year. Sorry, for those of you who thought I looked better bald! :) Several months ago, Patrick, our 4-year-old, asked when I was shaving my head again. I explained why I wouldn't be participating and he asked if he could "shave his to help the sick kids" this year. Of course, after I choked back my tears I told him yes. We shaved last year because we were so grateful for our healthy kids. I think we are even more grateful because our healthy kids are also thoughtful ones. We have spent a lot of time talking about cancer; what it is, how it happens, and how sick people get when they are in treatment. Patrick told us that he's doing this so that "kids don't have to die from cancer". Its unlikely the money he raises will cure cancer, but any progress will be worth his and our efforts. Please consider making a donation to St. Baldrick's Foundation. The more we have learned about this organization, the more we see just how committed they are to research, and conquering cancer. 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to research. They give more research grant money than ANY other organization, except the U.S. Government, surpassing the $100 million mark this year. Please be grateful for the healthy kids you love. And please make a donation to help those who have had to fight this terrible disease. Below is the link to Patrick’s participant page. Click on the link and click on “make a donation” and it’s as easy as that! Online donations allow the maximum amount of money to go to Research, because there is no paperwork involved. We can also collect cash or checks if that's easiest for you. Thanks for your time! Heather and Brian
