I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

In July 2012, I had my head shaved for the 3rd time with the 46 Mommas and there is no doubt in my mind I'll keep right on shaving in solidarity with the kids fighting cancer until Childhood cancer is NO MORE!! I am a Long Term Survivor (45 YEARS & COUNTING) of Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma and I know how important Awareness, Funding & Research are in respect to Treatment!! While I may have come out on the fighting side of my battle against Childhood cancer, I will NOT walk away from the WAR! I am a Long Term Survivor, a Warrior, a fierce Advocate! Just remember, when you look at every child, think about what goes through their minds; because I know from experience they are LITTLE KIDS WITH BIG DREAMS! "Every parent dreams for their child the ultimate dream of a good life, a happy life, a healthy life a successful LONG life full of love the very best of everything life can offer... For the child diagnosed with cancer sometimes their biggest dreams are: being able to see the sunset being able to get out of bed being able to play with their siblings being a NORMAL kid being cancer FREE being able to LIVE Sometimes... that dream comes true... But "SOMETIMES"... ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH because every child's dream should become a REALITY!!" ~excerpt from "Little Kids, BIG DREAMS!!" by Carla Hood (written March 14, 2013/©March 14, 2013) I was "THAT KID" in the fight against Childhood cancer once upon a time and now I'm fighting to make sure the kids today will be given the same opportunity I have: TO GROW UP, TO LIVE OUT THEIR BIG DREAMS, TO MAKE THEM BECOME REALITY!! I am Carla Hood and I'm going BALD BY CHOICE in hopes of helping make sure that we can CONQUER KIDS' cANCER!! I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
