I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Mayor Michael Helfrich has decided to let the people vote on his new hair style. Sounds silly, but he’s doing it for a good cause, children’s cancer research. Last year Mayor Helfrich had his hair cut shorter than he ever had it in his life, and raised $10,000 for the St Baldrick’s Foundation, supporting childhood cancer research. This year his goal is $25,000. Here’s where you come in. Mayor Helfrich has been letting his hair grow for about 9 months. It is getting pretty long, and soon it will hit pony-tail length. If the people and businesses of York want a long-haired mayor, he will keep growing it until St. Baldrick’s 2021. If the choice is for a clean-cut mayor, Mayor Helfrich will cut it tight, and keep it like that for the rest of the year. So, what do you think?! Long-haired mayor or short-haired mayor? Your donations will make the decision. And no matter which style you choose, children win! So please make your donation today, and we’ll see on St. Baldrick’s Day what style the mayor will be sporting for the rest of 2020. Thank you.
