I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mafia 4 Matty - We Shave to Save

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mafia 4 Matty - We Shave to Save

In early 2010, what began as a family fundraiser for the Strength in Numbers Mafia Wars family to help out one of it's own, soon became something much larger.

Mafia Wars Superheroes for Matty on Facebook began as a fundraiser for Matt Melton and his family to help offset some of the costs related to Matty's treatment. The Melton family, and indeed his SIN family, were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the Mafia Wars community from all over the world.
Sadly, Matty passed away in March of 2011, but his legacy lives on. SIN felt that an annual fundraiser in Matty's name would be a great way to give back to help other families going through a similar situation.
The 2nd Annual Mafia Wars for Matty fundraiser was July 15th to 17th, 2011 where we doubled the money raised.
Sadly, as the Mafia Family slowly disintegrated over time, so too did the SIN effort.
This week, I was so impressed as my daughter created a team on St. Baldricks and will in just a few days shave her gorgeous hair!.  In order to encourage and support her and also, not that Mafia Wars is gone, perhaps this additional tribute to Matty, will also be a nice way for us to reach out to each other and be reminded of some real good times and at the same time raise some money for a great cause.
You can read all about the cause both on this site but my daughter also wrote it up well: https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/871478/2016
In the end, which team or page you donate to doesn't matter---what matters most is that you do something to help us honor little Matty Melton and his family.
All the best to all....I can be reached directly at arischochet@yahoo.com
Thank you,
Ozzy Wings/aka Ari Schochet
