Hi, my name is Jayden.
When I was told my grandmothers would both lose their hair from their cancer treatments I was sad for them. My brother and I decided to grow our hair so we could have a wig made for them. We had no idea that it took over 6 pony tails of hair to make one wig! We couldn’t grow enough hair or grow hair fast enough to help them.
My Nana sadly passed away very quickly from her cancer. My Grandma thankfully got better from her cancer without even losing her hair.
I then decided to donate my hair to help other children or teens who would really feel bad if they lost their hair. I also wanted to help raise money needed for research to help cure cancer in the young and every age.
It has not been easy growing my hair. Everyone thought I was a girl. I am happy my brother decided to grow his hair too. We were able to deal with “looking like a girl” together. I have been mistaken for a girl lots of times but it didn't bother me much - it was well worth it to feel like I am helping someone else. I am glad I can now donate over 10 inches of hair to the Wigs for Kids Program.
I hope you will help me raise money and support my hair cutting experience by donating to Childhood Cancer Canada through the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Make me look like a boy again! I will post a photo after my hair cut. So you can see the difference your money will make!
Thanks in advance.
Jayden.
