I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Cortland Celtic

Hey y’all! I went through my New Year’s resolutions and decided to combine two of them! 1. Raise money for children’s cancer research and 2. Run 1,000 miles in 2015. St. Baldrick’s is an organization that raises money for children’s cancer research in a unique way. Participants get donations and pledge to get their heads shaved in front of a crowd of people! I am participating in the event at Kitty Hoyne’s on March 1st 2015. Men, women and children of all ages participate. It is a blast! Donate and come watch!!! https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/745842/2015 I’ve decided to spice things up and set up a 50/50 sort of raffle to encourage more donations. For every $10 you donate, you get one guess for how many miles I will have run between January 1st and March 1st 2015. As of today 1/23/15, I have run 39.8 miles, according to my runkeeper app. My goal is to run 1,000 miles in 2015 – some of your smarties can figure out I’m already behind. Plan is to ramp up throughout the course of the year. We will see, never done this before!!! With this info, you should be able to make an intelligible guess at where I’ll be on March 1st. Make your guesses to one decimal place. I will not be updating FB with my run tally to make things just as fair for people who guess earlier rather than later. How can you help? Real easy. 1. Go to https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/745842/2015 and donate. Don’t forget to print off a copy since your donation is tax deductible! Your company may match – there’s an easy tool to let you know on the site. 2. Guess how many miles I will run between January 1st and March 1st 2015. Send guesses to my brother Devan Coon via Facebook messenger. If you don’t use this app, text me and I will get you in touch with him. All guesses must be in by the morning of March 1st. I want to encourage donations all the way up to the event! 3. On March 1st at the end of the Kitty Hoyne’s event I will announce the winner on FB! I am capping the 50/50 raffle potential winnings at $200, since this is what I intend to donate. It makes it easier to collect donations through the St. Baldrick’s site, but they don’t have an option to do what I’m doing, so this is my way around it! In the end it’s for charity  Examples: - If we raise $300 in donations on the website, I will give the winner $150 out of my pocket. - If we raise $400, I will give the winner $200. - If we raise more than $400, I will still give the winner $200. Thank you for your donations!!! - Jamie
