My daughter, Gwen, has decided to cut her long locks as a donation this Saturday and to raise money to benefit childhood cancer research.
An old friend from middle school has a daughter - Aurora Lita - who is not even 2 yet and is faced with battling cancer. She was diagnosed with stage III Wilms Tumor on 11/18/2014 and had her right kidney and tumor removed. She has been a tough little girl and full of smiles as she goes through chemo therapy and radiation. I am amazed at how strong and positive the family stays as they face this challenge together.
Kelly, Aurora's Mom, is hosting a St. Baldrick’s event this Saturday (4/4) at O’Tooles in Royal Oak from 1-5 in honor or Aurora and her friend Tessa, who is also battling cancer. It will be a great day of family fun with strolling princesses, Batman, the Easter Bunny, raffles and auctions, and 25 shavees will shave their heads, including Kelly and her female family members. Our team, Locks of Laughs, has our own shavee, Colin Hunt, as a representative for our team. Please join us at the festivities - to support us and cheer Gwen and Colin on!
Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Instead of getting that soda or coffee today, please consider donating here!
