I'm cutting my hair to raise money for childhood cancer research! And I'm doing it in honor of Sophia Z.
Last year, my dear friends' two-year-old daughter Sophia was diagnosed with a glioneural brain tumor. It is located in an area of her brain that renders it inoperable. Since then, sweet Sophia has undergone three major brain surgeries and twenty-five rounds of chemotherapy, has lost the sight in one of her eyes, and has battled the constant onslaught of debilitating side effects from her treatments. Through it all, she has been a ray of sunshine, a warrior princess, and a source of inspiration to all who know her. No child, no family, should have to endure what this girl, her parents, and her brothers have been through.
Only 4% of U.S. federal cancer research funding is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is the largest private (non-government) funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
