6/12 UPDATE:
The hair is gone but the opportunity to donate is ongoing!!
5/16 UPDATE:
The good news - I am less than $170 from my goal of $1,000!
The bad news - It doesn't look like the in-person event is going to be held until sometime in September.
The opportunity - how would YOU like to be the one that gets to shave my head (or have my wife do it in your absence if you aren't local)?
On June 1st I will look at the contributions that I receive between now and the end of May. Whoever donates the most money will get to be the lucky clipper! So many of you can't wait for me to get a haircut so here's your chance to make it happen. Put your money where your mouth is and donate at the link below or through the facebook fundraiser. Cash donation are also accepted and will be counted accordingly.
I look forward to blowing this goal out of the water. Don't let me down.
If we can double the goal and hit $2,000 I will even let you shave the goatee!!!
Since so many people have been annoyed by my long hair (including me at times) I have decided the time to cut it has come - with a catch. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to raise money for St. Baldrick’s, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants. If you want to see my head shaved then make a donation and help fund the research to destroy childhood cancer!!
It all started with three guys in a bar on St. Patrick’s Day and a challenge to go bald to raise money for childhood cancer research. Their goal was $17,000. They ended up raising $104,000, and St. Baldrick’s was born.
Childhood cancer research is incredibly underfunded — only 4% of government funding is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s Foundation has worked since its founding to fill that gap.
St. Baldrick’s is the biggest funder of childhood cancer research grants behind the United States government. Since becoming a foundation, they’ve funded more than $200 million in grants to intrepid researchers searching tirelessly for better treatments and cures.
Cancer kills more kids than any other disease and only research can change that. Anything you can give helps the cause and I greatly appreciate your support!
