I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Beware of the Ides of March. Loose a little hair, have a little fun and raise some money to combat childhood cancer. For the 13th year, I will be getting my head shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research. The event is St Baldrick's. This year's event will have a Shakespearean flair as the shaving will occur on March 15. Friends, Romans, and Countrymen, every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with childhood cancer. Before the age of 20, 1 in 300 boys and 1 in 333 girls will be diagnosed with cancer. To be is the answer with an 85% survival rate for the most common cancer. But there is still more work to be done. In 2012 the St Baldrick's raised $33 million , almost double the 2008 total. Such stuff as dreams are made on. We are making a difference. Though this be madness, I’ve set a aggressive fundraising goal this year of $20,000. Just as important, I’d like to exceed the number of 2012 donors, 117. It is the strength in numbers that will drive the charge to $20,000.
