I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi everyone! My name is Cooper.  I'm a 4th year medical student at UCSF, and a soon-to-be resident physician in pediatrics.  I fell in love with pediatrics for the same reason that many do -- kids are special; the awe with which they navigate the world is infectious.  As a future pediatrician, my goal is to help keep kids healthy and feeling good so they can focus on being a kid -- growing, exploring, playing, laughing, learning, and thriving.

Some kids are not so fortunate...

Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive Of those who do survive, the battle does not end there.  By the time they’re 45, more than 95% of survivors will have a chronic health problem because of the treatments they had as kids.  I refuse to accept this reality. I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money for childhood cancer research to find cures and better treatments so that we can conquer kids' cancers.

This is the second consecutive year that I will #BraveTheShave.  Last year we were able to raise over $6,400!  I'm hoping that, together, we will be able to surpass the $10,000 mark between my first two years.

Please show support as you are able -- share my page, sign up to volunteer, become a shavee yourself, or donate to my campaign.  Your donation can fund research to #TakeChildhoodBackFromCancer and help kids survive and thrive.

•In honor of Janet & Dylan•

Thank you all and wish you the best!
