Here I go again! I’m going bald to raise money for children’s cancer research! This is my 2nd time shaving (my first was in 2015), and I’m shaving with my husband Vince, who is in his 13th year as a shavee.
Approximately 400,000 children globally will be diagnosed with cancer each year, yet less than 4% of cancer research funding is dedicated to pediatric cancers. And did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? And for those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
I’m doing this for all of them, so that they might stand a fighting chance. I’m also doing this for my amazing husband who recently lost his mom to cancer and is shaving in her memory this year. As he says, she wasn’t a child, but was definitely a kid at heart and was always his biggest supporter.
Please help me reach my goal of raising $2000 by donating what you can. Every single dollar matters! Can you spare $5? Or $50? Or even $500? No matter how big or small, your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
