I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Amanda's Balding Minions

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Amanda's Balding Minions

Over a year ago I decided to grow my hair out, with the intention to shave, in honor a little girl named Amanda Conrow. I never got to meet Amanda but she had one of those magical spirits that somehow touched more people than she knew, and obviously left a lasting impression I still think about her quite frequently. I knew Amanda's family from East High, although we were never really close, we did have that connection. When Amanda passed away I had a flashback of feelings-- back to when I was a junior at East and I lost two grandparents and a good friend to cancer. I shaved my head then while they were still alive, to support them and make sure they knew that hair isn't what's important. I'm ready to feel those clippers again.

I am very thankful for my own good health, and I hope that this small gesture will give a bit of hope to those who need it. I want to honor those who fight the battle against cancer every day. Fighters of all ages, but especially the kids and their families. This one is for you.
I'll certainly miss my hair, but it's for the kids that don't have a choice to grow theirs. Please consider donating a few dollars to this worthy cause, or come out and show your support at the event! It means more than you know.
