Dear Family and Friends,
I’m reaching out with a heart full of gratitude as I prepare to participate in the St. Baldrick’s event for the 12th year in a row on Sunday, March 30. St. Baldrick’s is an incredible organization dedicated to raising both funds and awareness for childhood cancers, and I’m proud to be a part of this meaningful cause.
Twelve years ago, I was inspired by the strongest 2nd grader I’ve ever known, which led me to sign up and have my head shaved in solidarity with children battling cancer. Since then, my participation has taken many forms—from community events and school-wide gatherings to Zoom calls during quarantine and even having 8-year-olds in my classroom shave their teacher’s head! It’s always been a fun, impactful way to support a cause that’s close to my heart.
As I look ahead to my 12th year, I want to express my deepest thanks to all of you who have generously supported me over the past 11 years. Your kindness and contributions have made a difference, and I’m reaching out once more to ask for your support. Childhood cancer research is often underfunded, and with the challenges facing medical research today, I worry about the direction things are headed. But I have full confidence that St. Baldrick’s uses every penny wisely to help fund the life-saving research that will make a lasting impact.
Thank you for considering a donation to support my 2025 St. Baldrick’s Head-Shaving Experience. Your support means the world to me—and to the children and families who will benefit from these crucial funds.
With gratitude and hope,
Dan
Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
