UPDATE 3/18/2017:
I’m shaving my head for all children battling cancer, my family members who have fought and are currently fighting cancer, and in honor of AVA LEE.
Ava Lee
8/14/2008 – 1/1/2017
Ava passed away Jan. 1 of this year. She fought leukemia for three years, undergoing a stem cell transplant and numerous rounds of chemo, radiation and trial drug treatments.
She was 8 years old.
JOIN US ON MARCH 17, 2017 TO SEE CONNOR SHAVE HIS HEAD. THE EVENT STARTS AT 6 P.M. CONNOR'S TEAM, HIGHLANDS HEROES, WILL HAVE THEIR HEADS SHAVED PROMPTLY AT 7 P.M.
MARRIOTT CHICAGO NAPERVILLE, 1801 N. NAPER BLVD., NAPERVILLE, IL
I am doing it again this year. I'm shaving my head for childhood cancer -- to raise money and awareness. (See the pics below from last year.)
I have refused to cut my hair since late August (much to my mom's dismay) so I have a giant pile of hair on the floor when I shave it.
Cancer is an important issue to me. My Grandpa John is sick with cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, CLL) and feels sick a lot and has to get treatments and infusions a lot. I couldn't imagine feeling that way as a kid.

MORE ABOUT WHY I'VE JOINED THE TEAM AGAIN:
I have joined the Highlands Heroes team for St. Baldrick's Foundation because as I mentioned before, cancer is rampant in my family! Granpda John has had skin cancer more times than the dermatologist can count, and he has been battling leukemia (CLL) for several years now.
My Grandma Kathy (my mom's mom) has beaten breast cancer twice. My mom's grandpa died of colon cancer.
My mom's grandma beat breast cancer and then ultimately succumbed to brain cancer.
Several aunts and uncles have also battled cancer. Thank goodness there hasn't been childhood cancer in my family (that I know of) so far.
I want to keep it that way and help those children who are dealing with the brave fight against cancer.
Consider donating -- even just $1 -- because every bit helps! If you aren't able to donate, I'd still love your support at the event on March 18 ( 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.) at the Naperville Marriott on Naper Boulevard. It's a lot of fun. Come watch me shave my head.
My mom and I will be creating a Facebook Event page to keep everyone posted and you can check this page for updates, too!
I want to help make a difference! Will you help me -- or join me at the event and watch me get my head shaved? Please let me, my mom or dad know if there is someone for whom you'd like me to shave my head.
