UPDATE ON 3-17-2016:

Thank you so EVERYONE who has donated! This is absolutely amazing!! I have beyond met my goal.  Please come out to join me on March 19 at 6 p.m. at the Marriott in Naperville to see my team shave their heads.  We'll also have a cake that night to honor all the shavees (and help celebrate my dad's birthday that day)!

ABOUT WHY I'VE JOINED THE TEAM:

I have joined the Highlands Heroes team for St. Baldrick's Foundation.  I am shaving my hair to help raise money for childhood cancer!  Cancer is rampant in my family! My maternal grandpa has had skin cancer more times than the dermatologist can count, and he has been battling leukemia (CLL) for years now.

My maternal grandma has beaten breast cancer twice. My mom's grandpa died of colon cancer.

My mom's grandma beat breast cancer and then ultimately succumbed to brain cancer.

Several aunts and uncles have also battled cancer. Thank goodness there hasn't been childhood cancer so far.

I want to keep it that way and help those children who are dealing with the brave fight against cancer.

Consider donating -- even just $1 -- because every bit helps! If you'd rather not donate, I'd love your support at the event on March 19 at the Naperville Marriott on Naper Boulevard.

I want to help make a difference!
