Last year was my first year participating in the St. Baldricks foundation as a shavee ( one of my proudest moments of my life) . When I found out that my aunt Teresa had leukemia early 2012, I got this feeling like" man I wish there was something I can do". I have known people with cancer but this one was on the home front. So I decided to join St. Baldricks as support for my aunt Teresa. After my head was shaved, I went to visit my aunt Teresa and took a st baldricks shirt she was so proud to see me. A few months passed, and her battle raged on until her body had no more fight and cancer had conquered another soul . Last year I shaved in dedication to my aunt Teresa and all those children that don't have a choice to shave there heads. This year I will be shaving in the memory
Of my aunt Teresa One of the sweetest kindest people you ever wanted to meet. I went and had a hair cut two days before my aunts funureal. I have been growing it ever since for this event in march. It will be almost 9 months since my last haircut, and those of you that know me ,know it's highly unusual for me to go over three weeks without a hair cut.
Another reason I shave is for the children. My aunts life was cut short but some
Of the kids haven't even got to live!! No playing sports in youth legues, no high school crushes, no graduating from collage I mean the list goes on and on. If I can give the support that a kid needs to fight another day then I am content I mean I am not a dr that's all I can do . So this year I want to raise a ton of money so we can find a cure for this horrible disease. So in a nutshell that's why I am shaving this year I really appreciate you checking my profile out and if you can't donate that's fine we also accept all the prayers you can give :)
I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
