If you're reading this, I appreciate you visiting my St. Baldricks page and hope you'll assist me in raising money to kick cancer's ass! This is my third year being involved with this great organization and once you learn about them I think you'll feel pretty good about giving money to the cause. Besides the U.S. Government, they fund more in childhood cancer research than anyone else. The tradition known as St. Baldricks has been around since 1999. in 2005, they became an independent foundation and since then they have raised over 100 million dollars!
I competed in St Balricks in 2010, 2011 and now 2013. I took a year off in 2012 because I had more on my plate at work and my wife and I were busy looking for a house to buy (we ending up building one and love it). Now I'm back and shaggier than ever! I stopped trimming my beard (except for my mustache, those things are annoying and need to be kept under control) in mid September. I also stopped cutting my hair ....except for around my ears and my neck beard, can you blame me? Most people who participate in St. Baldricks are only concerned with shaving their head, I've never been one of those people. I want to give my donors the biggest bang for their buck so I grow out my beard and then shave it off! So, the picture above is from New Years Eve... my beard has been getting more manly by the day.
There are many ways to give to this cause. There are hundreds of St. Baldricks events held around the country in March. If you live in Charlottesville, the local event that I, along with my team (Megan Fox and The Inglorious Beardsterds) will be shaving my head at is at The Biltmore Restaurant on March 23rd. You can volunteer at the event, you can donate gift certificates to the raffle or help by advertising. If you are interesting in helping in any way please don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks!
