I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Gallagher Re

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to conquer kids’ cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Why do I shave my head for St. Baldrick’s? I am passionate about childhood cancer research, in the hopes that other families will not have to experience loss.

In 2011, my 2-year-old nephew, Ayden, was discovered with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT). He fought hard for nearly 9 months, but ultimately succumbed. Through studies done at Dana-Farber/ Boston Children's Cancer Institute, the cure rate for ATRT has improved from roughly 10 percent to nearly 50 percent over the last decade!

The key is research. Research is hope for kids with cancer, but donations to find cures have been down since 2020. Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants, St. Baldrick's Foundation.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Please don’t let these kids down. We greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you so much for your support!

Andrew
