I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Aiden for Luke

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Aiden for Luke

Hi! My name is Aiden and the boy in the video is Luke. I have been inspired by an older boy in my school named Liam who shaved his head to raise money for cancer research because he has a cousin with cancer. I pray every night for a little boy named Luke who is fighting Leukemia. Luke and his family are friends of our family who we got to know through playgroup when I was little and church. Luke is 5 and I am 7. When I watched Liam get his head shaved at school to help his cousin, I wanted to do that to help Luke. My mom and dad told me that shaving my head is not really helping Luke, but raising money by shaving my head will. That money will go to Childhood Cancer Canada, who helped us set up this St. Baldrick's event page. I am really excited to start fund-raising because the money will go to help find a cure for cancer! Luke has gone through his first year of intensive treatment and is now undergoing maintenance treatment for the next two years. It looks really hard! His mommy made a video about his first year of treatment for Leukemia. You can watch it on this page. Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations like Childhood Cancer Canada and others around the world to fund childhood cancer research. I will be getting my head shaved at St. Mary School in Chesterville on our school's end of year fun-day: June 24th, 2013. Please help me help Luke and other kids who are sick with cancer by clicking "Make a Donation" above. You may also give by mail or phone.
Thank you for your support! Aiden
