Celebrating 25 Years

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Alan's Angels

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Alan's Angels

Alan loved pandas, so much that we once thought his Make A Wish request would be to go to the National Zoo in Washington to see the pandas. That wasn't to be, but when I arrived in DC for Childhood Action Days in 2016, I decided to acquire a new panda for Alan's collection to stand in his place. I named him Hilly, since he would be accompanying me on my congressional visits on Capitol Hill to represent Alan's lost opportunities and potential.

I have often spoken on how there are three reasons to shave your head to fight childhood cancers - 1) Solidarity with the kids 2) Raising money for research and 3) Advocacy to raise awareness to make childhood cancer research a priority.  This year the Momma's are tackling advocacy in a big way! We are going to Washington DC to share our children's stories and be their voice.

I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
