In Memory of Gena Kuchyt

Raleigh, NC, US

It's with the saddest hearts that we have to share that on August 21, 2016 our sweet daughter Gena passed away. Words cannot describe the hurt that Tiffani and I feel. She was our sun, our moon, and our stars. She wasn't in any pain and we were both holding her as she went back to God. We appreciate all the love, support, prayers, and well wishes throughout this much shorter than expected journey. Gena was diagnosed with a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor on her liver and passed within just a few weeks. Each day of her life was filled with compassion and joy.

Never needing lots of toys, Gena was always satisfied to be in the company of those that loved her, who she also loved. Simply being around her basset hounds, Clark and Jessie, with her Wonder Woman doll would bring a smile as radiant as the sun. Gena shared a very close connection with her dogs, who loved her unconditionally. Whenever she needed a diaper change or was waking up from a nap, Clark and Jessie were there to watch over her to make sure each change was done properly and that she was fully fed. Gena would lay on the floor with Clark while Jessie would bring Gena’s toys to her so she could play. She brought us happiness, and not just because of our interactions with her and because she was our daughter, but because of how peaceful she lived her days and how loving she was towards everyone.

Gena Weston Kuchyt passed peacefully to Jesus on August 21, 2016 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Gena is the beloved daughter of Tiffani and Patrick Kuchyt of Raleigh, NC. She is survived by her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Annette (Fornataro) Cox of Crozet, VA; paternal grandparents Patricia and Wally Kuchyt of Winchester, VA, maternal great-grandmother Joyce Allen; paternal great-grandfather Walter Kuchyt, Sr., Aunt Katherine (Jay) Riddle; Uncles Dennis M. Cox II, Kristopher Cox and many loving family members and dear friends. Gena loved her faithful dogs, Clark and Jessie, who were constantly by her side. Gena's brief time with us was filled with happiness and love. She will remain in our hearts forever, and her goodness will inspire us all to be better people.
