My Story

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, Benjamin Christopher Brandenburg passed away from Ewing Sarcoma at the age of 15. Ben enjoyed soccer and tennis and was an avid video gamer. He loved movies, especially epic action movies like Lord of the Rings, the Marvel Universe, and Star Wars. A serious student, Ben was a 2021 graduate of the St. James School in Monkton and a member of the class of 2025 at the Gilman School in Baltimore. He loved math and science but developed a genuine love for photography and the outdoors through his studies. Ben had a quick wit and an infectious smile though he was often quiet and contemplative. He held a deep love for his family and his friends. His indomitable spirit and bravery were an inspiration to all who knew him through the ravages of cancer, his treatments, and multiple surgeries.
