In July 2019, Bode was just embarking on on a big summer. Summer camps, family vacations, camping trips, concerts and lots of pool time with his big sister, Mom and Dad. All of those plans came to a screeching halt after an exploratory procedure revealed every parents’ worst nightmare. Bode was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. This kicked off a true journey through hell. For the next 9 months Bode underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation therapy. In March 2020, Bode received wonderful news, He was finished with treatment and he was NED! Bode continued with periodic scans and follow ups, which unfortunately revealed in November, 2020 his cancer was back. Bode then restarted another 9 months of Chemo, 23 days of radiation and underwent an extremely invasive head and neck surgery to remove the tumor. Bode finished treatment in September of 2021 and is now enjoying being a kid. He is currently thriving in 4th grade and spending lots of time with his family and friends. Thank you for supporting Bode and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
