Thank you for supporting our family. Our daughter, Clarke, was initially diagnosed with stage 4 Wilms Tumor that completely compromised her right kidney and she had it removed. From the kidney it moved to the lungs, all before we discovered any of it. Her initial treatment was 6 months of chemotherapy and radiation to the abdomen and lungs. Everything appeared to be gone for a short time, she even rang her completion of treatment bell. Shortly after in a follow up CT, more nodules were discovered on her lungs. She has been undergoing chemotherapy on a new protocol for almost a year now and she will continue to treat this reoccurrence for at least another full year with lengthy chemotherapy every three weeks. Clarke is doing well, so much energy inside this amazing girl, she never wants to slow down. She is very positive and brave when it comes to her cancer. She doesn’t complain about the treatments, the pokes, the scans, the medicines or any of that. Instead, she asks if the next date is treatment day regularly because she looks forward to seeing her nurse, doctor and child life friends so much. Clarke loves the outdoors. She likes to dress fancy and dig in the dirt for worms. She is athletic, she likes to bike and dance especially. She is creative and imaginative, you just never know what you will get into when you put her in charge of the day. We are looking forward to the day that treatments will be in the past but we couldn’t ask for a better attitude from her to fight this.
