My Story
Aleigha is a brilliant young lady at almost 12 years old, with alot to offer the world. who exceeds in school, wildcat baseball and life in general. This last November we were able to consider Aleigha 5 years cancer free from Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB) (childhood lung cancer) that she had starting in Aug of 2006. We had a few scares over the last few years but nothing like what we found out in Aug of 2013, Aleigha was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyoscaroma (botryoid type) ERMS for short, chilldhood cervical cancer. Another rare cancer for such a beautiful young lady. Aleigha has miss little school while doing treatment, and is just well, ALEIGHA, the only word that best describes her.
2018 Update
Aleigha is striving and doing amazing. She will enter her sophomore year of high school this fall. Her freshman year was successful, she was a manager for her schools swim team, and also earned a GPA of 4.02 which she received her academic letter.
Year 4 in remission from ERMS, which is sorta scary for us all, as she had relapsed in year 4 from PPB.
Aleigha is now old enough to fully understand that there is not enough awareness or funding for Childhood Cancer and is rallying her troops to make a difference.
