Wyatt was diagnosed in March 2017 at age 2.5 with an optic pathway glioma when he started having unexplained seizures. He started chemotherapy treatment when doctors found he was losing vision. After a year of chemo treatments, the tumor appeared to be stable. In March 2019 the tumor was growing again, after only 6 months off of chemo. Wyatt had a biopsy of his brain and was placed on two oral inhibitor drugs to target the tumor. These failed also and a scan in December 2019 showed significant tumor growth. Wyatt is now undergoing chemo for a second time. He has completely lost his vision and is having other neurological problems such as slurred speech, difficulty walking, and involuntary movements of his limbs. We are hoping to minimize or reduce these symptoms with the current chemo treatments.
