Max Brown was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, B-cell) in January of 2016. Max was just 4 years old, and his only symptoms were a cough that wouldn't clear, and intermittent fevers. This would be the beginning of 2.5 years of chemotherapy and hundreds of trips to the hospital including overnight stays,. Since this journey began, he has stolen the hearts of every doctor, nurse, nurses aid, and student at Brenner Children's Hospital. He has never refused a medication, never refused a hug, and has an infectious smile he carries with him always.
Max is currently in remission, and visits the hospital once every four weeks for blood work. This ensures that if the leukemia were to creep back up, they would know very early on. Max is currently enjoying kindergarten, loves playing with his older sister and his cousins, and is a video game fiend. You will never encounter Max when he doesn't have a smile or a giggle, and several fist bumps to go around.
