Andrew is a happy go lucky 10 year old boy who loves video games and soccer. Andrew starting feeling stomach pain and was throwing up, sometimes multiple times a day. His PCP checked him out and said he was fine and it was probably just a stomach bug; she referred him a Peds GI Dr. That appointment was scheduled for May 9th.
On February 8th he was taken to Tucson Medical Center after he did not get better. The ER Dr did a brain scan and they found a walnut sized brain tumor next to his brain stem.
Andrew had surgery the next morning, February 9th, at Banner Diamond Childrens Center. After a six hour surgery they removed the tumor, even the piece that was on the brain stem.
On February 14th, Andrew was officially diagnosed with Medulloblastoma.
He has been such a warrior and has a long journey ahead with his treatment plan. He will soon begin radiation and chemotherapy.
