Kayla's 14 yrs old that was enjoying her summer when she developed some knee pain that wouldn't go away, went to the doctor and some tests later, they had told us that she had osteosarcoma not just in her left knee but her right hip as well. Couple of weeks of chemo and Kayla had a rare BUT successful surgery called a rotationplasty and took out the cancerous tumors in her left knee. She is still undergoing treatment and eventually will need a right hip replacement.
She still remains positive through all of this, and of coarse still not understanding why this horrible disease chose her but pushes through each and everyday with a smile that lights up any room she's in becoming everyone's inspiration. Thank you for supporting her and more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
