Skyler was diagnosed with cancer in his early teens. At the time his Grandmother was looking for him because Skyler was in Foster Care. Right around when Skyler was diagnosed his Grandmother found him and moved him to Columbia, Mo so that he could get treat from his cancer. Skyler was in remission and had a full bill of health until around 2009 when he was diagnosed with cancer again. This time his brother helped him with a Bone Marrow Transplant. Skyler again beat a second form of cancer and was doing well. He started to go to college and that's where he met one of his best friends, Vince. While going through college Skyler spent time with Vince helping little kids in the afternoon and loving the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and the Mizzou Tigers. In late 2015, Skyler again would find out that he had to go to St. Louis for chemotherapy. This is when I became close with Skyler as a friend. Vince, myself and our group of friends visited Skyler a few times. At that point, Skyler told me something I will never forget. "Guys I really don't want to go through Chemo again but I am going to do it cause my Grandmother needs my help around the house." See Skyler had moved to Columbia at a young age and he had been helping his grandmother with his Dad who was suffering with ALS. Skyler was lucky enough to continue toward finishing his degree after getting cancer free. He was very close to finishing his degree before late 2016 when Skyler was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. This time Skyler knew that there wasn't many days left. Our Group of Friends were lucky enough to share a our last together as a group on Skyler's Birthday! October 6th, 2016 we all shared that beer and it is the last time I got to hang with my dear friend.
