Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
My personal reasons for doing this is my daughter Abby. Who for about 3 weeks suffered headaches which then led to vomiting. We took her to her doctor who orders a CT scan. In a million years I never thought I would hear the words, your child has a brain tumor. I screamed, I cried, then I panicked. We were taken straight from the ER where the scan was performed to Mott Children's Hospital. We were told that it was Medulloblastoma brain cancer. Hearing the words, "your child has cancer," it rips your heart out. It takes every bit of happiness and completely dashes it on the ground. She had a total resection on May 7. She has suffered some set backs with the surgery. Use of her dominant right hand and some balance issues. But she was strong and courageous never losing her smile, even when she lost her hair. We have finished 6 weeks of radiation and Vincristine. We are now doing inpatient chemo followed by twice a month doses of Vincristine. As a mom I absolutely devastated and fearful. I can't lose my little girl. She is everything that is beautiful and kind in this world.
