We went into the ER November 20th 2016. We originally went in because I had a horrible throat infection. They did a half hour of tests before the ER doctor told me he was 99% sure I had cancer. He determined it was lymphoma, but he didn’t know what type, so he sent us to a lymphoma specialist that worked at the same hospital (which was St Alexis at the time). They did a major surgery on me, in which they took out a lymphnode out of my armpit, and determined it was hodgkins lymphoma (at first) but than the specialist look into more, and he called us franticly really late at night, (this was all a week later), to go to Rush and meet with his associate Dr Larson because he was very positive that I had tcell lymphoblastic lymphoma. I was diagnosed from there. My first treatment was on December 1st, 2016 and my last chemo treatment was July 2 of 2019. Thats the day I was considered in remission too.Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
