My Story
Cameron was born in July of 2007. She was a happy and thriving baby. As she got older, she began to have unexplained low grade fever, repeated bouts of pneumonia, and began to have difficulties walking. At 23 months of age, an ultra sound revealed a terrifying diagnosis: a stage 1 Wilms Tumor. Immediately after the ultrasound, Cameron was admitted to The Children's Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. The next day a CT scan confirmed the diagnosis, and the following day Cameron underwent an emergency surgery to remove the tumor and kidney. After recovering, Cameron continued to be closely monitored and was officially declared cancer free in June of 2014. Today, Cameron is a happy healthy girl, enjoying her duties as a big sister, playing softball and soccer, drawing, and reading. One of her most cherished memories is going to Disneyland with her family. Thank you for supporting Cameron and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
