My Story
Our sweet Adam was diagnosed with a Rhabdomyosarcoma at the age of 1. On October 4th 2017 he had surgery to remove the lump that we discovered in his goin area, that day our life changed forever. The surgeon was able to remove the tumor but within the couple of weeks while he had scans, testing, surgery to insert his port, surgery to biopsy his lymph nodes and other testing another tumor quickly grew back to almost its original size. This is how we know Adam's cancer is very aggressive. Our oncologist quickly started Adam on his chemo regimen of once a week for 6 months and 5 weeks daily of radiation. Through all of this Adam has remained in amazing spirits, enjoying dancing and playing. We are very optimistic with Adam's outcome being that there have been so many blessings along the way. Going through these trying moments we have learned to live more in the moment and appreciate deeply. Our family is overwhelmingly grateful with the support that we have and continue to receive from friends and the community to get us through this and Adam's incredible Oncology team at Children's National in D.C.
